Have you heard some of the reasons that ebook sellers give as to why the ebooks they write or have written, are short on content? If you have been involved in the internet marketing niche for any length of time, then I bet you have.

One of the most common reasons that they give for selling skimpy ebooks is that people don't like to read, so they prefer to buy ebooks that don't have many pages. This has got to be one of dumbest internet marketing myths spreading through cyberspace.

Oh sure, many people really don't like to read, but this doesn't mean they want to buy an ebook that doesn't have enough information. This is what many ebook sellers want you to believe though.

When someone buys an ebook, they want an adequate amount of information that the ebook is suppose to provide, and they want this a lot more than just an easy read.

The thing to keep in mind, is that more often that not, a book or ebook that is short on content is also lacking in information. I have been in internet marketing for quite some time, and I can tell you that I've bought a boatload of these ebooks when I first started out. If you still think that ebook sellers are doing you a favor by selling you an easy read, let me throw this 'what if' scenario out there for you.

If a person wants to know how to get a job, does that person really prefer a book that only tells someone where to search for a job and how to dress on an interview over a book that explains step by step where to look for a job, how to search for a job, how to write a resume, how to write a cover letter, how to fill out a job application, how to negotiate a salary, how to locate job openings on the internet, etc., etc., just because it is an easy read? I think not!

It still amazes me when I see this myth anywhere. It is not logical by any stretch of the imagination and it definitely makes no sense what-so-ever, yet ebook sellers are still spouting this myth and many are still taken in by this myth as well.

Using a little bit of common sense also plays into this. While it is true that from time to time, there will be a an ebook that gives just as much of the required information as does a bigger ebook on the same topic, you have to think about it logically. I mean, compare the number of pages an ebook has in relationship to the subject of the ebook, and decide if it does or doesn't seem a little strange.

Sure, a 50 page ebook titled 'How To Breed Beagles' might have enough of the needed information as does a 500 page ebook on the same subject, but do you really think a 50 page ebook titled 'How To Build A Skyscraper' is going to contain all of the needed information to enable anyone to build a skyscraper, as does a 5,000 page ebook on the same subject? I don't think so.

It is true that many people don't like to read, but we all have to weigh the pros and cons of buying a skimpy ebook before we decide what's really important.

Starting a home business or deciding to work at home is often the choice by many when they want to supplement their income from work or to one day, make enough money to quit their job! Home business is utilizing the power of the internet to reach out to the masses that otherwise would not be possible as compared to a traditional brick-and-mortar business.

However, many people fail in their home business as well! It is important that when you start up your home business, that you have a mentor to guide you along because he or she has already succeeded in his or her home business. So all you have to do is copy his or her methods. But why is it that even when people have got seemingly the best person to guide them along, that they fail in their home business? And why is it, that sometimes, when people have a personal mentor that’s not as successful, actually make profit and generate sales in their business?

It all depends on one thing.

Focus.

The first thing I’d like to address is the great deal offers. Whenever anyone is exposed to internet marketing or home business, what happens is an unlimited amount of great deals that will come their way. That person is exposed to the limitless offers that the internet has. It is very, very easy for someone to get distracted and decide to take a detour and find out what that offer offers. Indeed, the internet has many great deals. And many people, including myself when I started out, got distracted. In the end, nothing got done. What happened to me was my mind was so overwhelmed with the flood of information and offers; I didn’t know what to do! I had information overload!

What I did was to get back to what I wanted to do initially and focus working on it.

The next thing that I’d like to address is the focus of getting the results you want. Your success or failure for your home business will depend on the level of focus on this. If you want to make a sustainable income for yourself, you need to focus until you reach that desired income level. What you need to do is to find the right tools, look for the right people and ask the right questions! You need to focus on achieving on the results you want.

Focus is very powerful. Allow me to ask you a question – what allows us to see? What can travel and circle round the planet several times in one second? The answer: Light. Focused light is powerful. Using a magnifying class and focusing the light through it will generate enough heat to burn a hole in a thin object. If you are starting out, you need to be like the magnifying glass and focus. It’ll take some time but you’ll get your desired result.

A more well known use of focused light is the laser. A high intense laser can cut through almost anything. In terms of home business, this would mean that you are using all the resources that you have, all the ideas you’ve got, and focusing them to get optimum results in the shortest time.

Remember to focus. It will determine your level of success for your home business!
